MORE THAN A YEAR AGO, KUNSTEN INVITED STINE GOYA TO EXPLORE THEIR COLLECTION OF NEARLY 4.000 ARTWORKS WITH THE IDEA OF CO-CREATING AN IMMERSE ART EXPERIENCE. SINCE THAT FIRST CONTACT, STINE AND KUNSTEN HAVE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER TO CREATE A TRULY POETIC AND SENSORY EXPERIENCE, TAKING A NEW APPROACH TO WHAT ART MEANS TO STINE. UNDER THE TITLE 'IF YOU SEE WHAT I SEE', VISITORS CAN SEE A SELECTION OF ARTWORKS THAT TOUCH ON THEMES SUCH AS MOTHERHOOD, SEARCHING, DEATH, LONGING, LONELINESS AND HOPE.

THE EXHIBITION IS OPEN FROM NOVEMBER 2024 UNTIL JUNE 2025 IN KUNSTEN MUSEUM OF MODERN ART AALBORG IN DENMARK.

STINE GOYA
X KUNSTEN

“Separation is a basic existential condition, and a recurrent, hugely significant theme in my life. As a mother, daughter and partner. Separation is inevitable and necessary. It creates life, identity, diversity and nuances. Separation is not only the start of something new, but also a conclusion. So, it is also associated with grief and longing, when someone or something we are close to disappears. When people separate, communities break down, and when presence and important moments cease. In those cases, I am always moved – overwhelmed by a sense of loss for what was,”

- STINE GOYA
